Hello David!

Thanks for the email. Our trip was great. We loved Puerto Lopez. The bus trip down was fine, we spent that day on the beach with great weather. We went to Isla de la Plata and enjoyed that day walking around the island and checking out the wild life. We stayed at a wonderful place in Puerto Lopez, Hotel Pacifico, and enjoyed great food for the few days we were there.  We had a wonderful trip to the coast and the rest of trip was spent in Quito exploring the city with Homero.  It was really nice to meet you and spend the day driving the coast.  If you ever make your way to the east coast, let us know and we can show you around!

We have noticed that some American and European expatriates have settled on the coast but as they saw available opportunities on real estate, they have become themselves unofficial real estate brokers starting unethical practices, buying worthless properties and reselling them to foreign investors at much higher prices out of the real price.
